Loren William Lange

Obituary

Loren William Lange was born on May 28, 1942, in Helen Township, Minnesota.  He was the son of Clarence and Lillian (Dittmer) Lange.  Loren was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth in 1956, by Rev. Plocher both at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Glencoe, Minnesota.  He received his education in Glencoe, Minnesota.

On February 9, 1964, Loren was united in marriage to Diane Duenow by Rev. R. F. Meissner at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.  Loren and Diane made their home near Glencoe.  Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Julie and Jenni.  Loren and Diane shared over 53 years of marriage.   

Loren worked at Pinske’s Builders, Glencoe Servi-Soft, Murphy’s Inc and then in 1972, went into business with Granny Drew and started the Drew & Lange Inc. serving local farmers.  In 1993, the business grew into what was known as Lange Dairy Equipment, Inc and later became Lange Dairy & Electric until Loren’s retirement in 2011.  He was a member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. 

Loren had a heart of gold and it was the size of Texas.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, playing cards, going to the lake, grilling and entertaining.  Loren loved to watch John Wayne westerns and the Minnesota Vikings with his grandsons.  Loren enjoyed bringing a smile to others and was quick with a humorous statement to see if you’d believe his exaggeration.

Loren passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 75 years and 3 days.  Blessed be his memory.

Grandsons, Mitchell Hahn of Prior Lake, MN,
                   Travis Hahn of Annandale, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.

Loren is preceded in death by his Parents, Clarence and Lillian Lange; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Albert and Myrtle Duenow; Sisters, Geraldine Gruenhagen and her husband, Orville, Marian Brinkman and her husband, Maynard; Brother-In-Law, Melvin Duenow.
