Loretta Ide, age 97, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018, at her home at Orchard Estates in Glencoe
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 31, 2018, 3:00 P.M. at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 31, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 P.M., two hours prior the service at the church.
Arrangements are with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
Obituary
Loretta Anna (Fieber) Ide was born on April 23, 1921, at her home in Helen Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Groenniger) Fieber. Loretta was baptized as an infant on April 27, 1921 and later confirmed in her faith as a youth both at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. She received her education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 1938. She attended Calhoun Secretarial Business College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On December 3, 1941, Loretta was united in marriage to Wilmer Ide at St. Thomas College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Loretta and Wilmer made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their life was blessed with 4 children, Jerome, Ed, Greg and Annette. Loretta and Wilmer shared over 32 years of marriage until Wilmer passed away on February 19, 1974.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Loretta first worked as a stenographer at the office of the county highway engineer in Glencoe, Minnesota. Loretta worked for the Glencoe School District as a cook for 16 years, retiring in 1986. She was a lifetime member of Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota serving as President of the Council of Catholic Women and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Aid and St. Francis Mission Club. She was the President of the Saint Ann’s Society. She was a member of four card clubs; Bridge, Pinochle, Sheephead and 500. Loretta volunteered at the Glencoe Area Health Care Center in the gift shop and in the beauty shop cutting men’s hair. Loretta also volunteered at the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was a dedicated senior citizen; she made it to the community room every Tuesday and Thursday for years.
Loretta enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, quilting, embroidery, crocheting and playing cards. Many weekends were spent entertaining and fishing at the cabin on Big Swan Lake. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Loretta passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at her home in Orchard Estates in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 2 days.

Loretta was preceded in death by her Parents, Frank and Margaret Fieber; Husband, Wilmer Ide; Brothers, Raymond Fieber, Ralph Fieber.
