Obituary
Lorrain Mathilda Buehler was born July 16, 1922, in Grafton Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Mathilda (Scharmer) Ebent. She was baptized on October 27, 1922 at the Grafton Church, and was confirmed in her faith on April 21, 1935, at the Evangelical Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. Lorrain grew up in Buffalo Lake. Lorrain received her education in the District 20 Country School, and graduated from the Buffalo Lake Public School. Lorrain was a nanny to many of her relatives’ new mothers. She also helped on her parents’ farm.
On October 12, 1945, Lorrain was united in marriage to Kenneth Buehler at Zion Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake by Rev. Omer A. Leske and Rev. I. E. Kottke. This union was blessed with three daughters, Beverly, Linda, and JoAnn. Lorrain was a homemaker and farm wife, and enjoyed the farm through her retirement years. After Ken passed away on September 2, 2003, Lorrain stayed on the farm for years before moving to an apartment in Buffalo Lake which was located next door to her sister’s home. She later moved to the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, and then to Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson. Lorrain loved Buffalo Lake and always said, "It is the best little town."
Lorrain was an active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake. She taught Sunday School for ten years, and belonged to Circle. She also belonged to the Boon Lake Ladies Aid. Lorrain’s greatest joy was her daughters and grandchildren. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, crafts, crocheting afghans, playing cards, playing with her grandchildren, and horseback riding. For many years her decorated cakes were famous at weddings, birthdays, confirmation, graduations, and anniversaries.
Early Sunday morning, September 16, 2018, Lorrain passed away at the Hutchinson Health Hospital having reached the age of 96 years. Blessed be her memory.

I had the pleasure of knowing this very sweet and positive lady through our grandmother, Sis Moreman. I remember many laughs with Lorraine and grandma. Such great memories. I know that Lorraine is in the arms of Jesus as she was a good and faithful servant here on earth. God Bless her and her family.
