Service Information
Lorraine Pearce, age 93, of Hutchinson, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 28, 2017, 11:00 A.M., at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Monday from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Lorraine June Pearce was born on June 3, 1924, in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Godfrey and Maria (Halvorson) Bathen. Lorraine was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth in Lester Prairie. She received her education in Lester Prairie, and was a graduate of the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1942. Lorraine then went on to graduate from the Minnesota School of Business.
On June 12, 1948, Lorraine was united in marriage to Paul Pearce at the Bergen Lutheran Church near Lester Prairie. This marriage was blessed with four sons. Lorraine and Paul resided in Minneapolis until 1956, when they moved to Cosmos for about ten years. In 1968 they moved to Hutchinson.
Lorraine worked as a secretary at 3M in Hutchinson for 18 years. She retired in 1988.
Lorraine was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was involved in the women’s church group who helped with church bulletins and quilting. She volunteered at the front desk at the Hutchinson Hospital and was involved in the Hospital Auxiliary Group. Lorraine was also a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood (now Thrivent) Local Chapter and served for a number of years as treasurer.
Lorraine enjoyed playing card games and being involved in several bridge clubs. She also enjoyed fishing, drinking coffee, and her lutefisk. Lorraine notably enjoyed traveling to places including trips to Alaska, Israel, and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
When Lorraine needed help with her daily cares, she became a member of Harmony River Living Center on August 16, 2017. She passed away there on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at the age of 93 years.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her Parents, Godfrey and Maria Bathen; Husband, Paul Pearce; Sisters, Dorothy Molnar and her husband, Jim, and Audrey Bathen; Brother, Glenn Bathen; and Daughter-In-Law, Marie (Paul) Pearce.

We are sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed visiting with Lorraine at family gatherings. She loved her family including those in her step-family. Our conversations included her love of her church family and her beloved Paul.
