Obituary
Lowell Christ Christiansen was born on May 17, 1933, in Brookfield Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Christ and Annie (Wehking) Christiansen. Lowell was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township.
On July 17, 1960, Lowell was united in marriage to Doris Schlueter at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township. Their union was blessed with two children, Karen and Brian. They lived their entire married life on the Christiansen home place. Lowell farmed his entire life, raising cash crops, livestock, and hogs. He loved to go fishing, and in his early years, pheasant hunting. He was able to go on a pontoon boat this past summer with his son, Brian, fishing with the “Let’s Go Fishing” program. Lowell enjoyed driving in the country looking at crops and area lakes. He was always interested in what his kids and grandchildren were doing. He loved to talk to anybody and had a way of making a conversation, even with strangers.
In failing health, Lowell entered the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center in March of 2011. He accepted that this would now be his home because of his health. He never complained about it, and made many new friends, which included the caring staff. In the early morning hours of Thursday, March 28, 2019, Lowell passed away there, having reached the age of 85 years. Lowell’s journey on earth has ended, but life in eternity has just begun. Blessed be his memory.
