Luaine Rolfzen, wife of Dennis and owner of Thread & Thimble, age 75, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, with interment at 1:00 P.M. at the Winsted City Cemetery in Winsted, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the church.
Obituary
Luaine Adeline (Schmidt) Rolfzen was born on March 1, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Louis John and Adeline August (Schlief) Schmidt. Luaine was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She received her education in Howard Lake, Minnesota, graduating from Howard Lake High School. Luaine furthered her education by receiving a LPN nursing degree in Wilmar, Minnesota.
On October 13, 1962, Luaine was united in marriage to Dennis Rolfzen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Winsted and Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Ann, Julie, Loren and Dale. Luaine and Dennis shared over 55 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Luaine was a farm wife, bus driver, nurse and seamstress. She also owned and operated Thread & Thimble in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Luaine was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. She was also a member of the Lester Prairie American Legion Auxiliary Post #463.
Luaine enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping and traveling. She treasured the time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Luaine passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 23 days.

Grandchildren, Johnny and Jessica Costello, Kody and Jazmine Rolfzen, Josh Dalbec, Liam, Ivan, Hugo, Holly, Orin, Rachel and Catherine
Rolfzen;
Other relatives and many friends.
Luaine is preceded in death by her Parents, Louis and Adeline Schmidt; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Norbert and Irene Rolfzen; Son-In-Law, Art Mallak; Granddaughter, Sara Mallak.
