Marcia Sue Ripperger was born on April 7, 1959 in Polk County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Edwin Gerald and Janet Sue (Patch) Ripperger. She graduated from S.E. Warren High School in 1977, received a Nursing Degree from Des Moines Area Community College and a business Degree from Simpson College.
Marcia was married shortly after graduation to George W. Chumbley from 1977 to 2010 and to this union two daughters were born, Melissa Sue Chumbley and Jessica Lynn Chumbley. At the beginning of her career Marcia worked in the medical and insurance field in various positions which took her to Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. After her breast cancer diagnosis in 2007 she changed pace and focused mainly on childcare, welcoming many families into her home and heart. She continued this care until her most recent cancer diagnosis in 2016. Marcia was a member at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Marcia was always a very positive, kind, gentle, loving person who enjoyed life, people and loved visiting with them. She truly never met a stranger. Marcia took pride in being a homemaker and working around the house and her flowers and yard up north. She enjoyed many seasons at her cabin welcoming family and friends to visit. Marcia’s greatest passion was her family who meant the world to her. She will be greatly missed but she has left her family many wonderful memories.

The former things have passed away.” May God’s words bring comfort to you and the family at this time of sorrow.
