Obituary

Margaret Ann Bartz was born on April 8, 1930, in Brookfield Township, Renville County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herbert and Mable (Wehking) Lietzau. Margaret was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brookfield Township, Renville County. She received her education in Hector, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Hector High School Class of 1948.

On June 27, 1948, Margaret was united in marriage to Francis M. Bartz, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township, Renville County. This marriage was blessed with five children, Margaret Marion, Francis, Ricky, Valarae, and Blaine. Margaret and Francis resided and farmed in Brookfield Township, rural Grove City, and Acoma Township, Minnesota. In 1964, Margaret and Francis moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 47 years of marriage until Francis passed away on October 22, 1995.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and partner in the farming operation. She was employed at 3M and later worked at Sears. She did daycare in her home, and later became employed at Starkey Labs. She also did home cleaning on the side. Margaret was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, where she was active in the church choir and taught Sunday and Bible School. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Margaret enjoyed going to the casino, taking trips and cruises, and attending concerts. She also enjoyed baking, fishing, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She especially cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Margaret passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at the Hutchinson Health Hospital in Hutchinson at the age of 85 years.
