Margaret Nemec, age 92, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Arlington, Minnesota.
Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Obituary
Margaret (Strickland) Nemec was born on June 22, 1927, at her home in Troy, Alabama. She was the daughter of John Washington and Mattie Lou Earie (Blackman) Strickland. Margaret was baptized and confirmed in her faith at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She received her education in Ozark, Alabama, graduating from the Zion Chapel School.
On January 18, 1947, Margaret was united in marriage to Ivan Albin Nemec at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Margaret and Ivan made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Rose, Peggy, Michael and Linette. Margaret and Ivan shared over 45 years of marriage until Ivan passed away on July 2, 1992.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Margaret worked at Tonka Toys in Mound, Minnesota, and Green Giant in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was a faithful member of Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe. As her ministry to the church, she proudly served on the Council of Catholic Women. Margaret was also a member of the Glencoe American Legion Auxiliary Post #95, Glencoe VFW Auxiliary Post #5102 and a Glencoe Lioness, serving as President for one year.
Margaret enjoyed gardening and flowers, especially her lilies. She loved her dog, Angel. Margaret treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
Margaret passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Arlington, Minnesota, at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 16 days.

8 Grandchildren;
15 Great Grandchildren;
1 Great-Great Grandchild;
Other relatives and many friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her Parents, John and Mattie Strickland; Husband, Ivan Nemec; Siblings, Nola Werner and her husband, Otto, John Strickland and his wife, Annie, Emily Sanders and her husband, Fred, Jo Lugthart and her husband, Chester, Mary Gibbons and her husband, Luke.

Had the pleasure of knowing her for many years. Her and Ivan joined Barb and myself and the girls on a wonderful trip to Canada for a Lions convention.
