Marilyn Wendinger, age 85, of Fairfax, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, at Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax. A Prayer Service with a sharing of memories will be at 4:00 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Marilyn Jean Wendinger was born on February 11, 1933, in Breda, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Detterman) Wolterman. Marilyn was baptized as an infant at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Breda, Iowa, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Fonda, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Fairfax High School Class of 1951.
On August 27, 1951, Marilyn was united in marriage to Clarence Wendinger at St. Andrews Church in Fairfax. This marriage was blessed with six children, Marcia, Joni, Linda, Rita, Larry and Ron. Marilyn and Clarence farmed in Cairo Township. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Marilyn and Clarence shared 64 years of marriage until Clarence passed away on January 28, 2016.
Marilyn was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Society, Ladies Aid, VFW Auxiliary, and the Renville County Cancer Society.
Marilyn enjoyed dancing with her husband, bowling in her younger years, fishing and camping up north, gardening, crafting, crocheting, reading and following her grandchildren's activities. Marilyn was an excellent baker and cook. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Marilyn became a resident at the Fairfax Community Home on January 9, 2018. She passed away there on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the age of 85 years. Blessed be her memory.
