Service Information
Marilyn Woods, age 93, of Winthrop passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord.
Memorial Service will be Monday, October 30, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Obituary
Marilyn Nellie Woods was born on September 2, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Gunder and Margaret (Potter) Jensen. Marilyn was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Minneapolis. She received her education at South High School in Minneapolis.
On September 10, 1948, Marilyn was united in marriage to Charles Woods. After their marriage, the couple resided on the Woods family farm in rural Winthrop. Marilyn and Charles were blessed with four children. Marilyn was a loving mother and homemaker. She was also employed at Green Giant, was a cook at the Winthrop nursing home, and worked at Hands, Inc. for 22 years, retiring in 1998. Marilyn and Charles shared 60 years of marriage when Charles passed away on February 10, 2009.
Marilyn was a member of Faith United Church in Winthrop.
Marilyn enjoyed crafts, sewing, needle work, mowing lawn, baking, entertaining, playing cards, Rummikub, and Bingo. She also belonged to a Neighborhood card club. Marilyn cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, Marilyn became a resident of The Lodge in Winthrop and later Bayside Manor in Gaylord and passed away there on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the age of 93 years. Blessed be her memory.
