Service Information
Marion Templin, age 87, of Waconia, Minnesota, and formerly of New Germany, Minnesota, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 11, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Germany, Minnesota, with interment at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural New Germany, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Germany, Minnesota. A prayer service will be at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Monday.
Obituary
Marion Alma (Gruenhagen) Templin was born on May 12, 1928, in Green Isle, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry Jr. and Alma (Belter) Gruenhagen. Marion was baptized as an infant on May 20, 1928, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 29, 1942, both by Rev. Heinrich Bouman at Emanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hamburg, Minnesota. She completed her education thru the 9th grade.
On March 30, 1946, Marion was united in marriage to Herman Templin by Rev. Wohlfeil at Emanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hamburg, Minnesota. Marion and Herman made their home in Plato and then in 1949, moved to a farm west of New Germany. In 1979, they moved south of New Germany, where Herman ran his saw mill. In 2009, Marion became a resident of Good Samaritan Care Center in Waconia, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Mavis, Bernice, Ronald, Rose Ann, Charles and Roger. Marion and Herman shared over 58 years of marriage until Herman passed away on August 5, 2004.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Marion was the janitor at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Germany. She was an active member at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid.
Marion enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, painting, reading and word search puzzles. She loved traveling to Germany and attending German celebrations. Marion cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
Marion passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 23 days.
