Service Information
Marion Holtz, age 85, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, wife of Alvin, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 A.M., June 29, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Interment will be in the Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Thursday from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Marion Mae Holtz was born on May 8, 1932, in Collinwood Township, Meeker County. She was the daughter of Harlow and Rosella (Schumann) Plath. Marion was baptized as an infant on May 15, 1932 and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 14, 1946 both at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1950.
On April 10, 1951, Marion was united in marriage to Alvin Holtz at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with five children, Barbara, Sandra, Gregory, William, and Mark. Marion and Alvin resided in Hutchinson. They shared 66 years of marriage together.
Marion worked at 3M in Hutchinson for over 20 years. She retired in 1989. She was also a hardworking housewife and loving mother.
Marion was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Marion enjoyed crafting and being with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed riding the Harley motorcycle, going to dances and traveling. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan and loved game day. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
When Marion needed help with her daily care, she became a resident at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson on December 25, 2013. She passed away there on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the age of 85 years.
