Service Information
Marjorie “Margie” E. Block, age 98, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Ecumen Pines in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Church in Hassan Valley Township, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Obituary
Marjorie “Margie” Elaine Block was born on April 14, 1925, in Winthrop, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Axel and Hilda (Wram) Lundholm. Margie was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. She received her education in Winthrop and was a graduate of the Winthrop High School Class of 1943.
On May 5, 1945, Margie was united in marriage to Lowell Block at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. This marriage was blessed with six children, Gerald, Douglas, Steven, Janet, Richard, and Jonathon. Margie and Lowell resided and farmed in Sumter Township, McLeod County, Minnesota, and after their retirement, moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota, in 1994. They shared 59 years of marriage prior to the passing of Lowell on December 17, 2004.
Margie was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, and partner in the farming operation with Lowell. She was also employed in housekeeping and as a Front Desk Attendant for the AmericInn Motel in Hutchinson. Margie was a member of St. John’s Church in Hassan Valley, Minnesota. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 96, Hutchinson Senior Center Card Recycling Club, Glencoe Card Club, Brownton Women’s Club, and Home Extension.
Margie enjoyed sewing, reading, and volunteering at the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing in the church choir. Margie especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Margie passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Ecumen Pines in Hutchinson, at the age of 98 years.

Margie is preceded in death by her Parents, Axel and Hilda Lundholm; Husband, Lowell Block; Daughter, Janet Treichler; Granddaughter, Jinny Block; Step-granddaughter, Kay Sellers; Sister, Bernice Raeth and her husband, Eddie; Brother, Chester Lundholm and his wife, Roween; Brother-in-law, Lyle Block and his wife, Jerene; Sister-in-law, Lucille Otterness and her husband, Melvin.
