Service Information
Mark "Zeke" Ziemer, age 60, of Hutchinson, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be Monday, May 1, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with interment in the St. Anastasia Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Monday 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. both at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Mark “Zeke” Ziemer was born on July 31, 1956, in Slayton, Minnesota. He was the son of Melvin and Celia (Moran) Ziemer. Mark was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Bethany Baptist Church in Hutchinson. He received his education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1974. Mark then went on to school at the Hutchinson Vocational Tech Institute.
On March 23, 1974, Mark was united in marriage to Maureen Kelley in Watertown, South Dakota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Eric, Ryan, Heather, and Brandon. Mark and Maureen resided in Hutchinson. They shared 43 years of marriage together.
Mark worked at the Ziemer Grocery Store for his father. He then worked at 3M for 33 years from 1980 to 2013.
He attended St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to the lake. He loved to grill and entertain and took special care of his lawn. Mark also enjoyed going on road trips and to casinos. He was a natural born story teller with a flair for the dramatic. Mark loved sports; Twins, Vikings and the Wild, and loved watching his children and grandchildren in sporting events. He always kept his home welcoming by the many updates and changes he made through the years. Mark especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Mark passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 60 years.

Grandchildren, Brady Ziemer, Brier Ziemer, Brodie Ziemer, Bo Ziemer, Hayden Schreder, and one soon to be born grandson;
Brother, Douglas Ziemer and his wife, Sandy of Boca Raton, FL;
Sister, Patty Luthens and her husband, Randy of Hutchinson, MN;
Sisters-in-law, Beverly Ziemer of Cedar, MN,
Sonia Ziemer of Elysian, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Mark is preceded in death by his Parents, Melvin and Celia Ziemer, Brothers, Roger Ziemer and Brian Ziemer; and Parents-in-law, Walter and Kathleen Kelley.
