Marlene K. Uecker, age 78, of Gaylord passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord.
Memorial Service will be Monday, November 13, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Monday, from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M., ALL at the church.
Obituary
Marlene Katherine Uecker was born on July 13, 1945, in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Roy and Leona (Laux) Kelley. Marlene was baptized as an infant in the Catholic faith on July 28, 1945, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Sleepy Eye and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School Class of 1962. In 1963, Marlene moved to Gaylord and worked at Fingerhut.
On April 7, 1972, Marlene was united in marriage to Warren Uecker at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. After their marriage, the couple resided in Gaylord. Marlene and Warren were blessed with two children, Corey and Kimberly, and Warren’s two children, Robin and Mark. Marlene and Warren owned and operated Uecker’s Café in Gaylord for 22 years. They shared 31 years of marriage when Warren passed away on December 27, 2003.
Marlene was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
Marlene enjoyed baking, sewing and crafting. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and sister.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, Marlene became a resident of Bayside Manor on June 10, 2021, and passed away there on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the age of 78 years. Blessed be her memory.

Children, Corey Uecker and his wife, Miranda of Gaylord, MN, and
Kimberly Uecker of Gaylord, MN;
Step-Children, Robin Giesen of Arlington, MN, and
Mark Uecker;
Grandchild, Ashlyn Uecker;
Step-grandchildren, Aiden Asmus, Keira Asmus, Brittany (Dylan) Wojtowicz, Nate (Alexa) Giesen, Brielle Giesen (Kaily), Trevor Uecker;
Sister, Sandy Kelley of Gaylord, MN;
Sister-in-law, Colleen Kelley of Wilson, WI;
One niece, one nephew, other relatives and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her Parents, Roy and Leona Kelley; Husband, Warren Uecker; Brother, Duane Kelley; Nephew, Michael Kelley; Step-son-in-law, Allan Giesen; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, August and Esther Uecker.
