Marlene W. Mueller, age 89, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at All Saints Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, with interment following in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Norwood Young America.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 A.M., two hours prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Marlene Wilhelmina Mueller was born on July 16, 1935, in Bongards, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Jerry and Elizabeth (Hoernemann) Flusemann. Marlene was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth, at the United Church of Christ in Bongards. She received her education in Bongards.
On September 14, 1952, Marlene was united in marriage to Douglas Mueller at the United Church of Christ in Bongards. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Norwood, Minnesota. Marlene and Douglas were blessed with three daughters, Denise, Nancy, and Mona. Marlene and Douglas shared 32 years of marriage when Douglas passed away on October 1, 1985.
Marlene was employed as a waitress at the Dew Drop Inn in Norwood, MN, Tonka Toys in Mound, MN, Good Samaritan in Waconia, MN as a cook, and Pro-Tech in Waconia, MN, in the Shipping Department for 22 years. Marlene retired in 2008. Marlene was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, and she enjoyed being a member of their quilter’s group.
Marlene loved tending to her gardens and canning the vegetables she grew. She loved to knit, sew her children’s clothing, and sew clothing for her children’s dolls. Marlene enjoyed doing embroidery, especially dish towels, and making afghans for her grandchildren and other family members. Marlene had a camper at Lake Mary in Alexandria and Lake Washington in Dassel/Darwin; which is where she enjoyed relaxing on the lake and trying her hand at fishing. Marlene truly cherished the time she spent with her family and with her friends.
Marlene passed away peacefully at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 22 days. Blessed be her memory.
