Marlow Howard Fratzke

Obituary

Marlow Howard Fratzke was born on April 24, 1926, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Otto and Verna (Froemming) Fratzke. Marlow was baptized as a teen on September 8, 1940, at Northside Baptist Church in Hutchinson. He received his education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1944.

On February 17, 1948, Marlow was united in marriage to Elenore Dietz at Franklin St. Baptist Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Peggy and Judy. After their marriage, the couple resided in the Hutchinson area. In 1974, they resided and farmed in Hassan Valley Township in McLeod County, Minnesota. Marlow and Elenore shared 63 years of marriage until Elenore passed away on March 22, 2011.

Marlow owned and operated Hutchinson Oil Company. He also raised beef cattle and crop farmed in Hassan Valley Township. Marlow was a member of the Hunters Ridge Community Church in Hutchinson and was an usher for over 50 years.

Marlow enjoyed tending to his gardens, working on tractors, spending time with his brother, Bob, going to auctions, and listening to old time music. Marlow & Elenore especially enjoyed hosting the Church Picnic for over 20 years. He cherished spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Marlow passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at his home in rural Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 89 years.
