Marlys J. Hoeft, age 78, wife of Jeff, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marlys Jean Hoeft was born on September 30, 1945, in North Mankato, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edward and Alice (Pierson) Hoffman. Marlys was baptized and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at First Congregational Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1963. Marlys furthered her education at St. Cloud State University, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.
On July 30, 1966, Marlys was united in marriage to Jeff Hoeft at the United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, South Dakota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Carl and Kristine. Marlys and Jeff resided in California for a year, before moving to Roseville, Minnesota, and then back to Hutchinson in 1976. They shared 58 years of marriage.
Marlys was a stay-at-home mom and worked part time jobs from 1968 to 1983. She then taught for the Hutchinson Public School District for 22 years. She retired in June of 2005. Marlys was a member of Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.
Marlys enjoyed gardening, Sudoku puzzles, shopping, and cooking. Marlys loved going on family camping trips, watching her kids and grandkids sporting events and family basketball games in the driveway. She also enjoyed going on bike rides and wintering in San Diego, California, with her husband, Jeff. Marlys cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Marlys passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake, Minnesota, at the age of 78 years. Blessed be her memory.

Son, Carl Hoeft and his wife, Judy of Hutchinson, MN;
Daughter, Kristine Fjerstad of Rochester, MN;
Grandchildren, Jared and his wife, Amanda, Summer, Riley, and Brodie;
Brother, Ed Hoffman and his wife, Sheryl of Hutchinson, MN;
Sister, Linda Cox and her husband, Lee of Hutchinson, MN;
Sisters-in-law, Sandy Hoffman of Hutchinson, MN, and Mona Hoffman;
Many other relatives and friends.
Marlys was preceded in death by her Parents, Edward and Alice Hoffman; Brothers, Dave Hoffman, Jeff “Doc” Hoffman; Sisters, Denise Pederson, Lorene Melin.
