Mary A. Ziegler, age 90, of Fairfax, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 10:30 A.M., at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 21, 2020, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service ALL AT CHURCH.
Obituary
Mary Alice Ziegler was born on September 3, 1929, in Bashaw Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Otto and Louise (Fischer) Roiger. Mary was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Springfield, Minnesota. She received her education in Mankato, Minnesota, and was a graduate of Good Counsel Academy with the class of 1947.
On December 28, 1957, Mary was united in marriage to Frank Joseph Ziegler at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. This marriage was blessed with eight children, Jean, Lori, Frank, John, Bill, Mary, Ann, and Karen. Mary and Frank resided in rural Fairfax on the farm until 2004 when they moved into Fairfax. They shared 52 years of marriage.
Mary was a loving homemaker, and dedicated farm wife to her husband. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax where she was a member of Catholic United Financial and Christian Mothers. Mary was also a member of the Civic League and Fairfax Lioness.
Mary enjoyed flowers, crafts, crocheting, embroidery, reading, and puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed having her children and grandchildren spend time with her.
In October of 2019, Mary moved to Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She passed away there on Monday, August 17, 2020, at the age of 90 years.

Several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren;
Brother-in-law, Andrew Hacker of Sleepy Eye, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her Parents, Otto and Louise Roiger; Husband, Frank J. Ziegler; Sister, Margie Hacker; Brothers, Loren Roiger and Gerald Roiger and his wife, Angie; and Grandchildren, Steven Ziegler and Courtney Christensen.
