I spent many hours in the archives at the McLeod County Museum with Mavis. She remembered where every piece of paper was filed and knew how everyone in the county was related. She was always a kind and caring person to work with. My condolences to her family.

Mavis was a human encyclopedia when asked about anyone or anything pertaining to McCloud County.
She taught me a lot about county history, how to preserve and record the information. I really enjoyed volunteering with her.
