Obituary
Maynard Alfred Zebell was born on April 8, 1928, in Bergen Township. He was the son of Emil and Laura (Tonn) Zebell. Maynard was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie and attended a rural school in Bergen Township.
On June 20, 1950, Maynard was united in marriage to Delores Pulkrabek by Father Bastyr at St. George’s Catholic Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Maynard and Delores made their home on a farm near Lester Prairie and later moved into Glencoe. Maynard shared over 68 years of marriage with his beloved wife and they were blessed with two children, Dwaine and Margie. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Maynard was a kind and hardworking farmer who loved to figure out how to solve a problem. When he wasn’t milking his cows or working the fields, Maynard loved polka dancing, and socializing with family and friends. He served on the Lester Prairie Farmer’s Cooperative Elevator Board in the 1970s and was able to take a few trips to Mexico and Hawaii with other couples for annual meetings. He and his wife also took some out-of-state bus trips later in life and while they enjoyed seeing various places throughout the country, Maynard said there was no place he would rather live than in Minnesota, especially Glencoe. Shortly after his wife’s death in 2018, Maynard moved into GlenFields Living With Care. He enjoyed playing bingo and socializing with friends there.
