Obituary
Melva was born March 16, 1928, in rural Alvord, Iowa, to Henry & Pauline (Dietrich) Mogler. She was raised on a farm by Alvord, Iowa, and graduated from Lester High School in 1945. She married Roland Messner on August 16, 1953, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. They lived on a farm near Bernadotte, Minnesota, until they moved to Gaylord. They shared 54 years of marriage and were blessed with three children. Melva and Roland loved to travel, and wintered in Zapata, Texas, for 30 years. Melva moved to Rittman, Ohio, in 2011.
Melva committed her life to the Lord and was baptized in the Apostolic Christian Church in 1950. Her love for the Lord was evident by her walk of life and her desire for church and hearing the word.
