Michael Gene Fasching

Obituary

Michael Gene Fasching was born on March 28, 1954, in Bremerton, Washington. He was the son of Wilford and Francis (Knick) Fasching. Michael was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He received his education in Silver Lake, and was a graduate of the Silver Lake High School Class of 1972.

Michael entered active military service in the United States Army on June 15, 1972, and served his country during Vietnam. He was released from active duty on June 2, 1975, and continued to serve his country in the Army Reserves. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 23, 1978, at St. Louis, Missouri, and achieved the rank of SP5.

Michael’s marriage to Linda Bastin was blessed with three sons, Josh, Dustin and Nathan.  Michael met, Barbara Doherty in 1990, and together they shared many years of happiness.  Michael and Barbara resided in Hutchinson.

Michael held employment at Glencoe Coop, Hutchinson Technology Inc. (HTI), and Lakes Gas Company.  He retired from Lakes Gas Company in 2014.  He was a member of the Crow River Country Club.

Michael’s favorite past times were golfing and spending time on his land up north in Moose Lake, Minnesota. He also enjoyed motorcycling.  Michael especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Michael passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2016 with family at his side, at his home in Hutchinson, at the age of 62 years.
