Myra Hoernemann, age 86, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment at a later date at the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 9:00-11:00 A.M., (two hours) prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Myra June (Stoeckmann) Hoernemann was born on June 10, 1931, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Hattie (Albers) Stoeckmann. Myra was baptized as an infant on June 21, 1931, by Pastor Bowman and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth in March 25, 1945 by Pastor Wohlfeil both at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. She received her education at Emanuel Lutheran School in Hamburg, Minnesota, thru the 8th grade and graduated from Glencoe High School with the Class of 1950.
On April 21, 1951, Myra was united in marriage to Gordon Henry Hoernemann by Rev. Wohlfeil at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Myra and Gordon made their home in the Lester Prairie, Plato and Glencoe area. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Marcia, Warren, Bruce, Doug, Mark and Linda. Myra and Gordon shared almost 57 years of marriage, until Gordon passed away on April 2, 2008.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Myra worked at Glencoe Regional Health Services in the dietary department. She also worked at Tonka Toys in Mound and was best known for her waitressing at local restaurants including North Star Café, Country Kitchen and G. Dubbs. Myra retired from DHIA where she tested milk. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Myra enjoyed playing cards, gardening, embroidering dish towels and dancing with the Polka Club. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Myra passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 22 days. Blessed be her memory.
