Myrtice “Myrt” Rannow, age 96, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017, 2:00 P.M. at Church of Peace in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment at a later date at the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 1:00-2:00 P.M., one hour prior the service at the church.

Obituary
Myrtice “Myrt” Bernice Lilly (Tessmer) Rannow was born on October 24, 1920, in Green Isle Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Augusta (Diehn) Tessmer. Myrtice was baptized as an infant on November 14, 1920, in Arlington and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 20, 1934, by Rev. Wm. Striepe at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Arlington, Minnesota.
On November 26, 1939, Myrt was united in marriage to Erwin J. Rannow by Rev. Wm. Striepe at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Arlington, Minnesota. Myrt and Erwin made their home on a farm in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Sharon and Jerome. Myrt and Erwin shared over 23 years of marriage, until Erwin passed away on January 18, 1963.
Myrt and Erwin owned Rannow Trucking, a large livestock hauling business. Later, Myrt worked at the Glencoe Elementary School as a cook for 18 years and at the Glencoe Country Club as a cook and manager’s assistant for 15 years. She was an active member at Church of Peace in Glencoe. Myrt was also a charter member of the Glencoe VFW Auxiliary Post #5102.
Myrt enjoyed dancing, bowling both on a couple’s team and on the ladies league, playing fierce games of Scrabble and bingo, gardening, cooking, baking, word search and traveling with friends. She was an avid sports fan cheering on the Minnesota Twins, Lynx, Timberwolves and Vikings. Myrt valued the time spent with her family and friends.
Myrt passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 96 years, 8 months and 29 days.

Myrt is preceded in death by her Parents, William and Augusta Tessmer; Husband, Erwin J. Rannow; Son, Jerome Rannow; Granddaughter, Jaye Schmidt; Great Grandson, Steven Walsh; Brother, Milton Tessmer and his wife, Marie; Sisters, Thelma Witte and her husband, Elmer, Verna Lepel and her husband, Melvin; Brother-In-Law, Frederick Nagel; Nephews, Gary Nagel, Gerald Tessmer, Roger Lepel.
