Myrtle Trick, age 101, formerly of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Grand Village Nursing Home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, with interment following at the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 A.M., one hour prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Myrtle Catherine (Jorissen) (Amrhein) Trick was born on April 28, 1916, in Chanhassen, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Mary (Wirtz) Jorissen. Myrtle was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Chanhassen, Minnesota. She received her education through the 8th grade.
On November 22, 1945, Myrtle was united in marriage to Harold Amrhein. Myrtle and Harold made their home in Chanhassen, Shakopee and Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Charles, Jill and Jacqueline. Myrtle and Harold shared 23 years of marriage until Harold passed away in June of 1968. In 1972, Myrtle was united in marriage to Otto Trick. Myrtle and Otto made their home in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. They shared 2 years of marriage until Otto passed away on December 22, 1974. In 2010, Myrtle moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and then in 2013 when Myrtle needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Grand Village in Grand Rapids.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Myrtle worked as a waitress, at Dayton’s and Butch & Myrts Bar in Young America. She was a member of Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America, where she volunteered and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. Myrtle was also a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and volunteered for the Stiftungsfest celebration.
Myrtle enjoyed canning, gardening, praying and volunteering. She treasured the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Myrtle passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Grand Village Nursing Home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, at the age of 101 years, 8 months and 6 days.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her Parents, William and Mary Jorissen; Husbands, Harold Amrhein, Otto Trick; Daughter-In-Law, Jean (Kraemer) Amrhein; Sisters, Lorraine, Gladys; Brothers, William “Red”, Elvera “Mushie”.
