Ned Anderson, age 87, of Hector, husband of Shirley Anderson, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector.
Interment will be held at a later time in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
Obituary
Ned Allen Anderson was born January 18, 1930, on the family farm in East Lake Lillian Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Lillian (Olson) Anderson. He attended Country School until the 8th grade, and went to work on the family farm. In 1951, he was drafted into the Army, and served in the Korean War. After his Honorable Discharge in 1953, he returned home.
On August 28, 1963, Ned was united in marriage to Shirley Inselmann in Cosmos. They made their home in Brookfield Township, rural Hector, where they raised their family of seven children. They were blessed with nearly 54 years of marriage.
Ned worked with different farmers, and also did masonry work in construction projects. Outside of his work time, Ned enjoyed playing cards. He and Shirley enjoyed dancing together. Ned loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with them. His grandchildren brought him great joy.
Late Monday evening, June 19, 2017, Ned passed away at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, having reached the age of 87 years. Blessed be his memory.

Kyle Anderson and his wife Lori of Buffalo Lake,
Darnell Anderson and special friend Jackie of Waseca,
Margo Lindberg and her husband Chuck of Brooklyn Center,
Loy Anderson and his wife Laura of Bird Island,
Anita Mortensen and her husband Bryan of Cosmos;
Grandchildren: Cassie, Dillon, and Savannah Anderson, Tanner and Montana Anderson, McKenzie and Nicholas Lindberg, Jordyn and Jake Mortensen, Stevenlee and Owen Jr. Anderson, and Laura, Claudia, and Damian Campos;
12 Great-Grandchildren;
Sisters, LuRae Thomas of Cosmos, Faith Nelson and her husband Clifton of Grove City;
Brother, Ilert Anderson of Litchfield;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ned was preceded in death by his Son Owen, who passed away June 25, 1990, at the age of 25. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lillian, Brothers Eldred Anderson and Avis Anderson in infancy, and Sister Beverly Macik.
