Pearl (Skoog) Ceske, age 97, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at CrossPoint Church in Hutchinson with interment in the Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Pearl Violet (Skoog) Ceske was born on March 17, 1922, in Milaca, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Otto and Minnie (Pinkert) Evers. The family moved to Cokato Lake in 1923. Pearl attended District 129, Melquist country school, through 8th Grade. In 1938, Pearl and her family moved to a farm on Highway 12, west of Cokato. Their family came to know the Lord when a missionary came to their house asking for a drink of water and invited them to church services, it was then they were baptized.
Pearl worked in a cafe and bakery; it was there she met Donald Skoog, while he was making donuts. On November 7, 1944, Pearl was united in marriage to Gustav Donald Skoog at Elim Mission Church in Cokato, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three children, Marlene, Roger, and David. Pearl and Donald resided in Hutchinson. They shared 53 years of marriage until the passing of Donald on September 15, 1998.
On August 2, 2003, Pearl was united in marriage to Dan Ceske at Lake Jennie Covenant Church in Dassel, Minnesota. Pearl and Dan resided in Hutchinson. They shared 7 years of marriage until the passing of Dan on April 2, 2010.
Pearl was employed at Beacon Cafe, Henke’s Cafe, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing, and More 4 for several years. She was then employed as a Certified Home Health Aide at Burns Manor, Hutchinson Hospital, and Prairie River Home Care until her retirement in 2005. She was a faithful member of Shalom Baptist Church, now known as CrossPoint Church in Hutchinson, where she taught Sunday school and sang with the church choir. She also served on the Missions Board, Women’s and Hospitality Board, and the Ladies Aid Committee. Pearl was also a Tupperware dealer.
Pearl loved music; she enjoyed listening to Christian music and playing the piano and organ. She sang with the “Sweet Adelines.” Pearl enjoyed going to dances, camping, fishing, doing word finds, sewing, embroidery, baking, and making cards. Pearl especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
Pearl passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Hutchinson Health, at the age of 97 years.

Son, Roger Skoog and his wife, Mary, of Hutchinson, MN,
Son, David Skoog and his wife, Pat Lang, of Buffalo Lake, MN;
Grandchildren, Mark Daak, Jeff Daak and his wife, Rebecca, Mike Daak, Jason Skoog and his wife, Suzanne, Tonya Hastings and her husband, Rob, Jennie Anderson and her husband, Jason, Jackie Glaser and her husband, Steve, Jonathan Skoog and his wife, Sarah;14 Great-Grandchildren;
Many nieces and nephews.
Pearl was preceded in death by her Parents, Otto, and Minnie Evers; First Husband, Donnie Skoog; Second Husband, Dan Ceske; Brothers, Ernest Evers and his wife, Elvera, Carl Evers and his wife, Mary Lou; Sisters, Esther Beckala and her husband, Rognar, Mildred Haapala and her husband, James; Mother and Father-In-Law, Gustav and Clara Skoog; Brothers-In-Law, Earl Skoog, Clayton Skoog, Lester Skoog; Sister-In-Law, Mildred Buske and her husband, Allen.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Aunt Pearl. I enjoyed seeing her when ever we would travel to Minnesota to see family. She was always smiling and just full of life. May peace be with her friends and family at such a trying time.
