Service Information
Penny Jo Peterson, age 64, of Bird Island, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at Olivia Hospital and Clinic in Olivia, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hector, Minnesota with interment in Hector City Cemetery in Hector.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial Service will be live-streamed on the First Evangelical Lutheran Church Facebook page.
Obituary
Penny Jo Peterson was born on July 10, 1957, in Olivia, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Donald and Mary (Kloempken) Silker. Penny was baptized as an infant on September 29, 1957, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth in 1972 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hector, Minnesota. She received her education in Hector, and was a graduate of the Hector High School Class of 1975. Penny furthered her education at Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, Minnesota.
On November 17, 1979, Penny was united in marriage to Donald Peterson at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hector. This marriage was blessed with two children, Cassandra and Andrew. Penny and Donald resided in Bird Island, Minnesota. They shared 42 years of marriage.
Penny was employed at several different businesses including Drive Line, Dollar General, Handi Stop, and Montgomery Wards. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hector.
Penny enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Penny passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at Olivia Hospital and Clinic in Olivia, Minnesota, at the age of 64 years.

Penny is preceded in death by her Father, Donald Silker; Sister in infancy.
