Service Information

 

Raymond Edward Reiner, age 91, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with interment in the Church Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M at St. Anastasia Catholic Church and will continue one hour before the service at the church.

There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary Friday at 4:00 P.M. at the church.

Military Honors by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad. 

Arrangements are with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel.

Obituary

Raymond Edward Reiner was born on June 17, 1926, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Charles and Fern (Raiher) Reiner. Raymond was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He received his education in Hutchinson.  

Raymond entered active military service in the United States Navy on October 6, 1943 in Montevideo, Minnesota.  He received his military training at the Farragut Naval Training Station in Farragut, Idaho.  Raymond served his country during World War II.  Raymond sailed on the destroyer USS Litchfield and was also part of the Navy Submarine Service.  He received an Honorable Discharge on May 25, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and achieved the rank of Yeoman Third Class (Y3C).

On July 21, 1962, Raymond was united in marriage to Lois Harris at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Fairfax, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with one son, Michael. Raymond and Lois resided in Hutchinson. They shared 55 years of marriage.

Raymond was employed at Construction with Harry Hansen for 12 years, Quade Electric in Hutchinson for 19 years, Hutchinson Technology Incorporated for 17 years, and Walmart in Hutchinson for 8 years until he retired in 2006.

Raymond was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus in Hutchinson and the American Legion Post 96 in Hutchinson.

Raymond was very proud when his granddaughter received her license and they could spend time driving around together, he also enjoyed going out to eat, and working.  He loved attending his granddaughter’s events. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, granddaughters and friends.

When Raymond needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident at Harmony River Living Center on November 28, 2017. He passed away there on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at the age of 91 years.

Wife, Lois Reiner of Hutchinson, MN;
Son, Michael Reiner of Hutchinson, MN;
Grandchildren, Maisie and Megan Reiner;
Sister, Melva Needham of IN;
Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Raymond is preceded in death by his Parents, Charles and Fern Reiner, Twin Sister, Caroline White and her husband, Gene, Grandson, Zachary Reiner; Half Brother, Sylvester Reiner and his wife, Martie; and Half Sister Katherine Rannow and her husband, Elvin Rannow.
