Mary says
I worked with Becky at the hardware store for 15 years. Being a small business we were like a family there, and she became the older sister I never had. She was someone I could always talk to about things and she helped me through some tough times.
We were constantly exchanging recipes. She would tell me which ones Bob liked and which ones he said she didn’t have to make again. She would let me know whenever a new calf was born on the farm and I would help her come up with names for them. Some of them were pretty creative because they needed to start with the first letter of the cows name that gave birth.
She loved going back to Ohio whenever she could and when she returned had so many stories and pictures of her daughters and her granddaughters. She was so impressed and proud of the way the grandaughters were learning to show cattle. We had to re-teach her how to speak Minnesotan whenever she came back from those trips. It was always “Ohiya” not Ohio.
I think every time you show cattle your mom/grandma will be there giving you support, guidance and cheering you on. She is your biggest fan.
Bob you said that you asked Becky ” What does the face of God look like?” and that she didn’t answer. I don’t think she is ignoring you , I think she just knows that you only get to know that when you get there. So keep talking with her because I think she will always be there listening and will answer you in her own way.
I will miss her dearly.
