Obituary
Rhonda Jane (Tonn) Zajicek was born on November 9, 1963, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Clarence and LaVerda (Bergs) Tonn. Rhonda was baptized as an infant on November 24, 1963, by Rev. Inselmann and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 29, 1979, by Rev. Axel Kordahl both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was Romans 8:1, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”. Rhonda received her education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 1982.
On February 22, 1981, Rhonda was united in marriage to Keith Zajicek by Rev. Alex Kordahl at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota. Rhonda and Keith made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Kerry, Kyle and Collin. Rhonda and Keith shared almost 36 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Rhonda worked hard to build a career in McLeod County over the last 25 years. She first worked in the Auditors Office and then served as an Emergency Medical Technician. During the last 13 years, she was a manager at the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office. Rhonda was steadfast in her faith and was an active member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Rhonda cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her time camping and traveling with Keith in their camper. But they were rarely alone; most of the adjacent campsites were often occupied with many of their dearest friends. Rhonda loved having her boy’s home and was known to prepare twice as much food as necessary. Nobody could make potatoes or salads like Rhonda could. She was also known to spoil her grandchildren; she always had a knack for picking out the perfect toy or clothes for each child. She was truly looking forward to her first granddaughter in the spring. Rhonda was a thoughtful, caring, generous and an incredibly loyal person. She made raising three rambunctious boys look easy. Rhonda also enjoyed campfires, quilting, football, basketball, stock-car racing and country music.
Rhonda passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 53 years, 1 month and 18 days. Blessed be her memory.

Keith & family, We are saddened to hear about Rhonda. Eleven years have passed since we sold and we have driven by our old house many times just to look. We drove past your house and other previous neighbors this past Monday, Dec. 26 and thought about how the “neighborhood” has changed. We want you to know that your family is in our thoughts and our prayers. May God’s peace rest on you.
