Richard A. Miller, age 77, husband of Jane, of Ellsworth Township, rural Darwin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday February 15, 2025, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, with interment at a later date in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Winsted, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Richard Anthony Miller was born March 1, 1947, in Watertown, Minnesota. He was the son of Reuben and Alice (Forsman) Miller.
Richard and Jane (Zimmerman) were united in marriage July 20, 1968 at the St. Paul Cathedral, and shared 56 years as husband and wife. They were blessed with four children, Michelle Butler, Russell and Robert Miller and Kristen Miller Kraus. They resided in Darwin, Minnesota for 47 years.
Richard was a proud veteran of the US Navy, having served in Vietnam from 1964-1967 aboard the carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
After completing his service, he volunteered as a firefighter in his hometown of Winsted and later in Hutchinson, where he worked as a Tool & Die Maker for 3M. He retired December 30, 2004 after 36 years.
Richard spent many years operating a machine shop side business, RAM Enterprises. He also enjoyed deer hunting, ice fishing, gardening and finding new recipes. Richard had a quest for discovering and learning new skills. He enjoyed the comaraderie and conversations he found as a member of the Hutchinson VFW. Richard was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather.
Richard passed away at his home Saturday, February 15, 2025. Blessed be his memory.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Reuben and Alice Miller, and brother Reuben Miller Jr. He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters and sons Michelle (Bryan) Butler, Russell (Jody) Miller, Robert (Sheryl) Miller and Kristen (Jason) Miller Kraus; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters Mary Lou Fohrenkamm, Debbie Miller, Ray Miller and Alicia Williams; and loved ones from both the Miller and Zimmerman families.

We were neighbors of Rick and Jane for 25 years at the lake. Always enjoyed our visits. If a person ever needed anything,chances are that Rick had it.
