Richard J. Williams, age 82, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his home.
Celebration of Life planned for a later date.
Obituary
Richard James Williams was born on July 11, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of Paul and Elsie (Tennier) Williams. Richard was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Minneapolis. He received his education in Minneapolis, and was a graduate of the Marshall High School Class of 1960. Richard furthered his education at Trade School in Minneapolis.
Richard entered active military service in the United States Army on March 9, 1964, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 8, 1966, at Fort Lewis, Washington, and achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
On June 8, 1968, Richard was united in marriage to Dietra Piepenburg at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Lesley and Annette. Richard and Dietra resided in Minneapolis and Luck, Wisconsin, before relocating to Hutchinson in 2017. They shared 56 years of marriage.
Richard was self-employed as a general contractor doing home construction. He retired in 2019. Richard was a past member of NE Mpls & Luck Lions Club.
Richard enjoyed golfing, cruising, fishing and playing cribbage. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends.
Richard passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his home in Hutchinson, at the age of 82 years.

Wife, Dietra Williams of Hutchinson, MN;
Daughter, Lesley Williams and her significant other, Kirk Williams of Luck, WI;
Brother, Ronald Williams and his wife, Doddie of Rockford, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his Parents, Paul and Elsie Williams; Daughter, Annette Williams; Brother, Paul Williams; Sister, Barbara (Robert) Cole.

Dee my heart is broken when you called and told me about Rich. I guess I knew it was coming, but just didn’t expect it soon. He and Jack along with both Annette’s probably getting into trouble.
