Robert John Donald Lindquist

Obituary

Robert John Donald Lindquist was born on December 19, 1922, in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota. He was the son of Lars John and Anna (Webster) Lindquist. Robert was baptized as an infant at his home and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, Minnesota. He received his education in Lafayette.

On August 5, 1967, Robert was united in marriage to Alice Schwartz Spellum at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided on the farm in Bernadotte Township. They moved to Winthrop when they retired.

Robert was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop and a former member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette.

Robert enjoyed collecting antique cars and working on gas engines. He was proud of his Swedish heritage. Robert loved to socialize, tell stories and reminisce; he knew everyone’s names and how they were related.

When he needed assistance with his daily care, Robert became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord and passed away there on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the age of 92 years. Blessed be his memory.

This was a newspaper clipping that Bob found and gave it to his wife, Alice. “Don’t walk behind me I may not lead, don’t walk in front of me I may not follow, just walk beside me and be my friend.”
