Service Information
Roger C. Biersdorf, age 68, of Plato, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his sister’s home in Hamburg.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, 1:00 P.M., at Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following in the Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hamburg.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. -1:00 P.M., two hours prior to the service at the funeral chapel in Glencoe.
Military Honors by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
The funeral luncheon will be held at Hillcrest Cafe & Catering in Norwood Young America immediately following the committal service.
Obituary
Roger Carl Biersdorf was born on May 8, 1956, in Waconia, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward and Dorothy (Unglaub) Biersdorf. Roger was baptized as an infant and confirmed in his faith as a youth both at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Roger received his education in Hutchinson and graduated with the Hutchinson High School class of 1974. He continued his education at Willmar Vo-Tech with studies in Dairy Management.
Roger was dedicated to his country and proudly served with the United States National Guard for 22 years. Roger made his home in Plato, Minnesota, and was blessed with two sons, Thomas and Bradley.
Roger was a hard-working dairy herdsman for most of his life and loved it. He loved to go fishing and bowling. Roger enjoyed going to rodeos and even tried his hand at riding bulls. He loved going to tractor pulls and rarely missed a Pioneer Power Show. During his downtime, he enjoyed watching old western movies, usually one starring John Wayne. Family meant everything to him and he greatly cherished the time he spent with them, especially his two sons and his cats.
Roger passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his sister’s home in Hamburg, at the age of 68 years. Blessed be his memory.

Sons, Thomas Biersdorf of Montgomery, MN, Bradley Biersdorf and his fiancé, Joy, of Dodge Center, MN;
Sisters, Betty Hesse of Cologne, MN, Sandra Sliger and her husband, Robert, of Manley, IA, Carol Dreier and her husband, Leroy, of Hamburg, MN;
Special Goddaughter, Tabitha Neubarth of Norwood Young America, MN;
Cats, Angel, Joy, and Happy;
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Edward and Dorothy Biersdorf; Foster Parents, Tom and Frieda Goetz; Siblings, Dallas Isaac, Frank Biersdorf, MaryAnn Mechtel, Shirley Biersdorf; Brothers-in-law, Roman Hesse, Jan Mechtel.
