Obituary
Roxanne Darlene Jensen was born on July 17, 1926, at home in Eitzen, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Martin “Mike” and Louise (Fruechte) Meiners. Roxanne was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Trinity Lutheran in Lucan, Minnesota. She received her education in Milroy, Minnesota, and graduated from Milroy High School class of 1944. Roxanne was the last surviving member of her class.
On April 24, 1945, Roxanne was united in marriage to Derwin Jensen at Trinity Lutheran in Lucan, by Reverend Edward Domke. This marriage was blessed with four children, Lynn, Cheryl, Linda, and Gene. Roxanne and Derwin resided and farmed in the Lucan area in Redwood County until 1959 when they moved to Clarissa, Minnesota. In 1967, Derwin’s job took them to Hutchinson. They shared 60 years of marriage until Derwin passed away on January 8, 2006.
Roxanne worked at 3M for 20 years in production and also as a receptionist. She also liked to volunteer as a Cub and Boy Scouts Leader, 4-H Leader as well as taught Sunday School. Roxanne was a member of both the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliaries. She held many offices in each. The Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary was another opportunity to volunteer. Roxanne also served as an election judge for many years.
In retirement, Roxanne and Derwin enjoyed traveling throughout the USA on their Gold Wing motorcycle. They often traveled with their Christian Motorcycle Club.
Roxanne was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson for over 57 years. Most visitors usually left with one new acquaintance, as Roxanne made it her mission to greet and welcome those new to Christ the King! Roxanne especially cherished time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends.
A fall caused Roxanne to suffer a fractured leg and Harmony River became her new home for several months. She passed away there on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 98 ½ years.
Blessed be her memory.

To the family of Roxanne, (Cheryl, Lynn)
Your Mom was always kind to me when I was a waitress at McCormick’s. I remember she liked her potato pancake “thin and crispy”, and I used to let her know if on that Sunday would be a good time to order one or not depending on who was cooking that day.
I am grateful for the time I was out on an injury, and she sent me a card letting me know I was missed. Thank you Roxanne for that 🙂

So sorry for your loss. Mr. and Mrs. Jensen,as my kids called them, were neighbors for over 20 years. They were both fun and young at heart. Roxanne was always friendly and fun – having a twinkle in her eye as she teased her husband. We will always remember her bright smile, caring ways, and witt. Blessed be her memory.
