Ruth M. Hackbarth, age 95, of Hutchinson, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota, with interment following at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 10:00-11:00 A.M., one hour prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Ruth Marian Hackbarth was born on March 29, 1922, in Hector, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ludwig and Marie (Miller) Wenz. Ruth was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth in 1935, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector. She attended country school through the 8th grade at Churchill School in Renville County.
On October 8, 1940, Ruth was united in marriage to Leonard Hackbarth at her parent’s farmstead in Hector Township by Pastor William Heidtke. This marriage was blessed with one son, Roger. Ruth and Leonard resided in Hutchinson. They shared 65 years of marriage together until Leonard passed away on April 18, 2005.
Ruth was a loving and patient mother. She worked at Burns Manor (now Harmony River Living Center) in the kitchen and helped with baking and the bakery.
Ruth was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Ruth enjoyed gardening and baking. She also loved volunteering at church. She especially enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.
When Ruth need help with her daily care, she became a resident at Harmony River Living Center on June 22, 2015. She passed away peacefully there on July 14, 2017, at the age of 95 years.

Sisters, Hazel Gruenwaldt of Glencoe, MN,
Alvira Levens and her husband, Richard of Fountain Hills, AZ;
Special Niece and Friend, Ardelle Novotny;
Many other Nieces, Nephews, relatives and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her Parents, Ludwig and Marie Wenz; Husband, Leonard Hackbarth; Brothers, Marlin (Marie) Wenz, Earl (Eunice) Wenz; Sisters, Lorraine (Glen) Johnson, June Alvira Wenz (in infancy).
