Stella A. Fisher

Obituary

Stella Augusta Fisher was born on November 16, 1930, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Charles and Augusta (Jepson) Hanke. Stella was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education at Country School District #81 and Hutchinson High School. She was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1948.

On August 9, 1951, Stella was united in marriage to Gerald Fisher in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Rick and Larry. Stella and Gerald resided in Hutchinson until they retired in 1980 and moved to Merrifield. Stella and Gerald shared 37 years of marriage together until Gerald passed away on December 29, 1988.

Stella was employed at Home Bakery for eight years and at Burns Manor for 15 years as a kitchen supervisor. She retired in 1980. She received her certificate to become a Home Health Aide and worked for Good Neighbors for 16 years. Stella then worked for Marathons Snowmobile Club for eight years selling pull tabs.

Stella enjoyed collecting recipe books, fishing, crocheting, crafting, playing cards, and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

When Stella needed assistance with her daily cares, she became a resident at Cuyuna Care Center in Crosby on February 15, 2012. She passed away there on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the age of 86 years.

          Larry Fisher and his wife, Sherry of Stewart, MN;
Grandsons, Joshua Fisher of Merrifield, MN,
      Andrew Fisher of Banner Elk, NC;
Great-Grandchildren, Davin and Taelyn Fisher of Merrifield, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

Stella is preceded in death by her Parents, Charles and Augusta Hanke; Husband, Gerald Fisher; and Brother-in-Law, Wallace Fisher.
