Obituary
Steven John Erpenbach was born on May 13, 1957, in Geneva, Illinois. Steven was the son of John and Theresa (Puetz) Erpenbach. Steven was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his catholic faith as a youth. He received his education in Norwood Young America and graduated with the Central High School class of 1975.
On June 30, 1979, Steven was united in marriage to Kathy Kloth at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America by Pastor Jonathan M. Fry. They made their home in Norwood Young America and later moved to the Twin Cities area. The couple retired in Glenwood, Minnesota, in 2024. Steven and Kathy were blessed with one son, Vincent. They shared over 46 years of marriage.
Steven was employed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for over 37 years. He served as a treasurer for a few churches that he was a member of at the time. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Norwood Young America. After moving to Glenwood, he served on the Glenwood HOA board.
Steven enjoyed the simple things in life and the time he spent with others. He loved going to the lake, taking pontoon rides on Lake Minnewaska, and heading to burger nights in Glenwood. Steven also enjoyed playing cards and, in his younger years, spent many seasons playing softball and going bowling. Golf, however, was his true passion. A dedicated member of Minnewaska Golf Club for over 20 years, he spent countless hours on the course. Some of his most memorable rounds were played at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach, CA. One of his proudest moments was shooting a hole-in-one at the 13th hole at the Minnewaska Golf Club, a story he carried with him ever since.
Steven passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN, at the age of 68 years, 11 months, and 8 days. Blessed be his memory.
