Obituary
Steven “Steve” John Klobe was born on July 23, 1956, in Crookston, Minnesota. He was the son of John and Janet (Johanson) Klobe. Steve was baptized as an infant into the faith and later confirmed in his youth at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Lester Prairie. He received his education in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, and graduated with the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1974. Steve continued his education at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota in Duluth, Minnesota, where he studied Marine Biology.
On February 15, 1986, Steve was united in marriage to Lisa Larson at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Steve and Lisa made their home in Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Brock and Erin. Steve and Lisa shared 38 years of marriage.
Steve was employed at Lester’s Buildings in Lester Prairie and Millerbernd Manufacturing Company in Winsted, Minnesota, in Sales and Marketing. Steve was a part of Lester Prairie’s Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders for just shy of 30 years. Steve was an active member at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie and served as a Sunday School Teacher there for many years. He was a Gun Safety Instructor and spent countless Wednesdays at the Sportsman’s Club shooting trap. He was also a Snowmobile Safety Instructor, and a volunteer with the Sugar Lake Association in the search and identification of aquatic invasive species.
Steve enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature and in the water. Scuba diving and exploring life underwater was a true passion of his, as to be expected seeing his entire education was to do just that. He was a part of Club Scuba in Wayzata, Minnesota, and loved to take underwater photographs to share with his family and with his friends. He also enjoyed boating and water skiing, and when hockey season came around, he was a big fan (Go Warroad!). Steve also enjoyed hunting, specifically, deer, duck, and pheasants. Steve greatly cherished the time he spent with his family and with his friends.
Steve passed away surrounded by family on March 24, 2024, at his home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, at the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 1 day. Blessed be his memory.

I am shocked to read this news as I didn’t even know he was sick. My deep sympathy in this horrible loss! I will pray for peace for you all. Steve was one of my best science students even being selected at the regional science fair to go to the state science fair with his duckweed project. The only student during my tenure to make it to state!

To the Klobe family,
I work at Graybar Electric and worked closely with Steve for 25 years. We talked on almost a daily basis sharing stories about fun, family and faith. He was the best business partner I’ve ever had, but an even better friend. I haven’t been in contact with him for a few years and didn’t know about his diagnosis. My prayers go out the entire Klobe family. Steve was a very Good Man!

Similarly to Kevin I had the great pleasure to partner in Business with Steve for decades at Graybar with Steve at Millerbernd.
Steve has been the most honest, helpful, professional man in business and again we shared many a conversation about the joys of faith, family, and friendship over the years.
