Sylvia A. Jungclaus

Obituary

Sylvia Alice Jungclaus was born on December 8, 1934, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Arnold and Esther (Luehrs) Lange. Sylvia was baptized on December 23, 1934, and later confirmed in her faith on April 25, 1948, both at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She received her education in Glencoe and graduated with the Glencoe High School class of 1953.

On February 5, 1955, Sylvia was united in marriage to Melvin Jungclaus. Sylvia and Melvin made their home in Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Mark and Kirk. The couple share 63 years of marriage together until Melvin passed away on February 15, 2018.

Sylvia co-owned Jungclaus Implement in Glencoe, with her husband, Melvin, and was the secretary there for over 33 years. Sylvia was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Sylvia enjoyed doing puzzles, watching basketball, especially the Timberwolves, shaking dice, and playing cards. She enjoyed traveling with Melvin, making lunch dates with her girlfriends, and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. Sylvia greatly cherished the time she spent with her family and her friends.

Sylvia passed away on May 26, 2023, at The Havens Assisted Living in Norwood Young America, Minnesota at the age of 88 years.

Great-grandchildren, Avery Jungclaus, Charlotte Jungclaus;
Brother, Leonard Lange of Glencoe, Minnesota;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her Husband, Melvin Jungclaus; Parents, Arnold and Esther Lange; Sisters, Evonne Mueller, JoAnn Lilienthal; Sister-in-law, Ruth Lange; Nephew, Ryan Mueller.
