Thomas “Tom” J. Miller, age 81, of Winthrop passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at South View Living Center in Gibbon.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Winthrop with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. (Noon) at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Military Honors by the Winthrop Honor Guard.
Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
Obituary
Thomas “Tom” John Miller was born on January 14, 1944, in Winthrop, Minnesota, to Noah and Laura (Schmidgall) Miller. He received his education in Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School with the Class of 1962. Tom was baptized on August 20, 2021, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Winthrop.
On June 6, 1962, Tom enlisted in the United States Army Reserve, where he earned the Sharpshooter (Rifle M-1) Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 5, 1962, with the rank of Private E-2.
On August 20, 1966, Tom was united in marriage to Margaret Trebelhorn at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. They made their home in Winthrop, where they shared 58 years of marriage and were blessed with four children: Jeffrey, Matthew, Nicole, and Sarah.
Tom worked for Isakson’s Plumbing and Heating in Gibbon for 10 years before establishing and operating Tom’s Plumbing and Heating in Winthrop for nearly 30 years.
He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and was actively involved in the Winthrop Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and the board of Dollars for Scholars.
Tom found great joy in spending time at their camper on Smith Lake near Alexandria, where he enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating. He also had a passion for running, weightlifting, and enjoyed vacationing in Mexico. Above all, he cherished watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Tom also had a lifelong passion for singing.
When he required additional care, Tom became a resident at South View Living Center in Gibbon, where he passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 81. Blessed be his memory.

Matthew Miller and his wife, Sharon of Chalfont, PA,
Nicole Fettig and her husband, Allan of Alexandria, MN, and
Sarah Haukoos of Shakopee, MN;
Grandchildren, Regan and Noah Miller of St. Michael, MN, Ailynn, Addison, and Nolan Fettig of Alexandria, MN, Olivia, Adalyn, and Elliott Haukoos of Shakopee, MN, Avery and Jackson Miller of Chalfont, PA;
Siblings, Donald, Melva, Judy, Mavis, Roger, Ilene, Brent;
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his Parents, Noah and Laura Miller; Siblings, Jean, Mary, Wayne, and Mike; Granddaughter, Riley Miller.
