Service Information
Thomas "Tom" Cable age 66, of Fairfax, passed away on Thursday, October 15th, 2015, at his home in Fairfax.
Funeral Service will be Monday, October 19th, 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Fairfax, with interment in the Fort Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation will be Sunday, October, 18th, from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Military Honors by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Obituary
Thomas Steven Cable was born on August 30, 1949, in Wadena, Minnesota. He was the son of Harry and Florence (Monroe) Cable. Thomas was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at the Morgan United Methodist Church in Morgan, Minnesota. He received his education at the Morgan Public School.
On July 28, 1967, Thomas entered the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, 3 Overseas Service Bars, Expert (Rifle M-14) Sharpshooter (Rifle M-16), Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device. Thomas was Honorably Discharged on August 4, 1970.
Thomas was employed by R & G Construction and drove the dozer. He was also a baker, taking over the family bakery in Morgan. He also owned bakeries in Redwood Falls and Fairfax.
On January 13, 1996, Thomas was united in marriage to Jean Spaude at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Fairfax. They shared 19 years of marriage.
Thomas was a hard worker and loved driving the dozer. He was an easy going busy man that loved outdoor work. Thomas enjoyed gardening and collecting homemade road construction things. He enjoyed spending time with Jean, his siblings, and friends.
Thomas passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at his home in Fairfax, at the age of 66 years. Blessed be his memory.

Wife, Jean Cable of Fairfax, MN;
Children, Shawn Cable and Bill Cable;
Siblings, Richard (Alice) Cable of Apple Valley, MN, Jean Larson of Willmar, MN, and Sharon (Garrit) Jepma of Glenwood, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren and other relatives.
Thomas was preceded in death by his Parents, Harry and Florence Cable; and Sister, Judy Albertson.
