Service Information

Timothy A. Wakefield, age 62, husband of Carol, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at NC Little Hospice Facility in Edina, Minnesota.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials preferred.

Obituary

Timothy “Tim” Allen Wakefield was born on May 12, 1962, in Wells, Minnesota. He was the son of Frank and Janet (Haugen) Wakefield. Tim was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at American Lutheran Church. He received his education in Albert Lea, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Albert Lea High School Class of 1980.

On March 7, 1981, Tim was united in marriage to Carol Kenning at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three sons, Timothy Jr., Travis, and Tyler. Tim and Carol resided in Hutchinson. They shared 43 years of marriage.

Tim was employed as a cabinet maker for Goebel Fixture Company in Hutchinson for 41 years. Tim was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.

Tim enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping at Cokato Lake. He especially enjoyed watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Tim cherished spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Tim passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at N.C. Little Hospice Facility in Edina, Minnesota, at the age of 62 years.

Sons, Timothy Wakefield Jr. and his wife, Summer of Sioux Falls, SD,
Travis Wakefield of Hutchinson, MN,
Tyler Wakefield and his wife, Sarah of Eden Prairie, MN;
Grandchildren, Brady, Caleb, and Brecken; Kiara, Jaiden, and Makaila; and Kate and Blake;
Father, Frank Wakefield of Albert Lea, MN;
Step-father, John Corbett of Chaska, MN;
Siblings, Tom Wakefield and his wife, Jenny,
Angie Wakefield,
Matt Corbett and his wife, Sheri,
Dan Corbett and his wife, Melissa;
Sisters-in-law, Judy Kenning,
Donna Flaata and her husband, Jeff;
Brother-in-law, Doug Kenning and his wife, Vonnie;
Many Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Tim is preceded in death by his Mother, Janet Corbett; Step-mother, Evelyn Wakefield; Brother, John Nelson; Father- and Mother-in-law, Donald and Ruth Kenning; Aunts and Uncles.

    Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Carol. Rod knew you since childhood and was happy when reuniting at Cokato Lake RV Resort. Tim’s (and your) leadership from Day 1 here has been obvious. Tim will be very missed. He was a friend to all. We will miss you, Tim.

    I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. Tim always had such a warm smile ans kindness about him. I will fondly remember all of us cheering the boys on during Summer Baseball.
