Vera M. Hahn

Obituary

Vera Mae Hahn was born on May 10, 1936, in Arlington Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Brockhoff) Quast. Vera was baptized as an infant on May 31, 1936, by Pastor R. Heidemann in Arlington and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota. She received her education at country school in rural Arlington.

On November 21, 1956, Vera was united in marriage to Herman Hahn at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Gaylord and later became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, Minnesota. The couple lived on their farm in Sibley Township until 2014 when they moved into Gaylord. In April of 2019, Herman and Vera moved to Golden Hearts in Arlington. She was a loving wife and mother and was also employed as a custodian at the Sibley County Courthouse in Gaylord. Vera and Herman shared 64 years of marriage, when Herman passed away on December 22, 2020. During their union they were blessed with a son, Curtis Hahn and a daughter, Karen (Hahn) Messner.

Vera was a very hard worker, both at her job at the courthouse and on the farm. She cherished the time she spent with her family. One of her favorite times of year was Christmas when she would get together and bake cookies with her family members. Vera enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning vegetables, baking and polka music.

Vera passed away at Golden Hearts in Arlington on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the age of 88 years. Blessed be her memory.

Great grandchildren, Emma and Evan Pagel, Treyton and Trysten Enter, and Jackson Diggs;
Sister-in-law, Marilyn Hahn;
And many nieces and nephews.
