Vern enjoyed being at home reading his Bible, and spending time with the love of his life - his wife Anita. He often commented he was a “rudderless ship in the sea of life” when they were not together. He was a devout man of faith who valued honesty, integrity, humility and respect for others above all else. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, never wanting to be the center of attention, but simply sit back and enjoy these special times together. While living on their hobby farm in Fairfax, his favorite pastime was growing vegetables in his garden and attending farmer’s markets.
