Service Information
Verna E. Polchow, age 95, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be September 2, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lynn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. and Friday, September 2, 2016, 8:00 A.M.-9:00 A.M. ALL at the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Obituary
Verna Erna Polchow was born on July 13, 1921, in Lynn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Ella (Rettman) Polchow. Verna was baptized as an infant on August 7, 1921, by Pastor Henry Albrect, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on June 30, 1935 by Pastor J. Weiss, both at Zion Evanelical Lutheran Church in Lynn Township. She received her education at Country School District #20.
Verna resided in the Hutchinson area her entire life. She was employed as a house cleaner for many years, retiring in 1997. Verna loved her cleaning.
Verna was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lynn Township, where she served as an organist for more than 50 years.
Verna enjoyed Birthdays and card parties, crossword puzzles, reading and flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Verna passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Hutchinson Health at the age of 95 years.

Brothers, William Polchow and his wife, Bette of Glencoe, MN;
Marvin Polchow of Moorhead, MN, and
Harold Polchow and his wife, Elizabeth of Hutchinson, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces, and Grand Nephews, and Cousins.
Verna was preceded in death by her Parents, William and Ella Polchow; Infant Brothers, Alfred and John Polchow; Sister, Ruth Duesterhoeft.
