Service Information
Verona H. Katzenmeyer, age 91, of Hutchinson, formerly Brownton, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Verona Helen Lydia (Lindeman) Katzenmeyer was born on June 1, 1934, at her parents’ home in Penn Township, McLeod County, Brownton, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Elsie (Becker) Lindeman. Verona was baptized as an infant on June 24, 1934 and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 25, 1947, both by Reverend M.A. Schulz at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownton. She received her elementary education at the country school in rural Brownton and attended Brownton High School.
On September 8, 1950, Verona was united in marriage to Neil Katzenmeyer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. This marriage was blessed with four children, Kolleen, Wanda, Darryl, and Robin. Verona and Neil resided in rural Brownton. They shared 64 years of marriage and enjoyed 24 winters at Happy Wanderer Retirement Park in Indio, California, until Neil’s passing on July 22, 2015. Summers were spent at their lake home on Eden Lake, in Eden Valley, Minnesota.
Verona was a homemaker and made countless meals for Neil and the farm crew. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, playing cards, especially Pinochle and Sheephead. She loved singing and listening to music. She enjoyed spending time with family, celebrating every birthday and anniversary with her siblings and their families. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were precious to her.
Verona was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed attending Trinity Lutheran Church in Indio, California during the winter months.
Verona passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 91 years, 10 days before her 92nd birthday.

Nosbush and her husband, Keith;
Great-Grandchildren, Collin Rollie, Morgan Rollie, Mackenzie Atkins, Austin Lavies, Judd Lavies, Lyla Doelger, Emma Doelger, Maya Doelger, Rory Nosbush, Baby Nosbush (due in October);
Sister, MaryAnn Schatz and her husband, Clarence of Brownton, MN;
Sister-in-law, Lil Lindeman of Glencoe, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Verona is preceded in death by her Parents, Herman and Elsie Lindemann; Husband, Neil Katzenmeyer; Children, Kolleen Todnem, Darryl Katzenmeyer; Siblings, Irene Bembenek, Rufina Henke, Ella Neubarth, Ada Wendlandt, Elva Wendlandt, Arthur Lindeman, Lester Lindeman, Elsie Schultz; Wilmar “Buddy” Lindeman.
